Hello. Welcome to my place. Won't you please come in and stay awhile. I look forward to our conversation. What have you been thinking about? I am so pleased that you have stopped by. Susan
In high school, Sister Mariella taught me apologetics. Then at UC Berkeley, my religion was constantly tested. But given my apologetics and the Catholic Newman Center the logic of my beliefs seemed to stand up to any questions about my Catholic religion. Nevertheless, I believe that my education at Berkeley, taught me to have an open mind.
In college, I became a Democrat primarily because my “husband to be” talked to me about social justice.
Politics became important to me. Especially influential was participation in the Young Christian Students, monitored by Father Walsh at Newman Center. Later in Indiana I have held the office of precinct committeeperson. I was also on the paid staff of US Senator Birch Bayh, the father of our current Senator Evan Bayh. Senator Birch Bayh espoused my ideals of caring for people.
Since my religion is paramount in my life the juxtaposition of religion and politics seeks to be the essence of this blog. Particularly do I champion the second commandment of Jesus to love our fellow man as we love ourselves.
